Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
In short: we collect only what we need to run your account, your websites and your payments. We do not sell your information, show ads, or use tracking or analytics tools. The nodan.net website sets no cookies; the portal uses one cookie to keep you signed in.
This policy explains how nodan.net, operated by Alex Hawkins, an individual based in Florida, USA ("we", "us"), handles personal information when you visit nodan.net, request an account, use the customer portal at portal.nodan.net, or host websites with us.
1. Information we collect
- Account requests: your first and last name, email address, what you want to host and any details you add.
- Your account: your name and email address, and records of when you sign in. We do not use passwords; sign-in links are sent to your email address.
- Your websites: the files and content you upload or deploy, WordPress content and databases, your domain names, and the Git repositories you connect. If you add a deploy key for a private repository, we keep its private key encrypted.
- Payments: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We keep your Stripe customer ID, your plan and its status, and which setup orders you have paid.
- Setup service: the business details and logo you send us with the setup form.
- Cloudflare connection: if you connect your Cloudflare account, the access tokens Cloudflare gives us (stored encrypted) and a record of the DNS records we create for you.
- Server logs: when you use the portal, our servers record your IP address, the pages requested and the time. Visits to websites we host may be recorded in the same way for security and troubleshooting. We also keep a record of important actions on your account, such as adding domains or changing plans.
2. How we use it
- to review account requests, create your account and let you sign in;
- to host, publish, back up and update your websites;
- to process payments and keep billing records;
- to set up your site if you order the setup service;
- to email you about your account, your sites and your payments;
- to keep the services secure, prevent abuse and fix problems;
- to meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules.
We do not sell or rent your information, use it for advertising, or build profiles of you.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with the services we need to run nodan.net, and only what they need:
- Stripe processes payments and receives your name, email address and payment details. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Resend delivers our emails (such as sign-in links and notices about your account) and receives your email address and the content of those emails.
- Cloudflare, only if you connect your Cloudflare account: we use its API to manage the DNS records you ask for.
- Certificate authorities (such as Let's Encrypt) issue HTTPS certificates for your domains. Domain names in certificates are published in public certificate logs.
- Git hosts (GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg): when you deploy from a repository, we fetch it from there.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers, the public or us.
4. Cookies
The nodan.net website does not set cookies and does not load third-party scripts. The portal sets a single cookie that keeps you signed in; it is required for the portal to work and is not used for tracking. Stripe's payment pages set their own cookies; see Stripe's policy.
5. Your visitors
For the websites you host with us, you decide what information your sites collect from their visitors (for example through contact forms or WordPress plugins), and you are responsible for telling your visitors about it. We process that information only to host your sites.
6. How long we keep it
- Account information and your websites are kept while you have an account. When you ask us to close your account, we delete your sites, their backups and your account information within 30 days.
- Account requests that we decline are deleted after 30 days.
- Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require. Stripe keeps its own records under its policy.
- Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
7. Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), separating each site from the others, encrypting stored credentials and limiting who can access our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell you without undue delay if a breach affects your information.
8. Your choices and rights
You can see and update most of your information in the portal. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account and data, by emailing support@nodan.net. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law; contact us and we will help.
9. Children
Our services are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a significant way, we will tell you by email or in the portal before the change takes effect.
